Carved Wooden Figure of a Monk with Cat

This hand-carved wooden sculpture portrays a monk accompanied by a stylized feline at his feet. The monk, depicted with flowing robes and a stern, contemplative expression, holds a staff in one hand, suggesting a figure of authority and introspection. The cat, with pointed ears and wide, alert eyes, gazes upward, its form elongated and detailed, reflecting a protective or loyal role. Its presence beside the monk emphasizes a symbolic relationship, likely representing vigilance and companionship. Behind the figure, a naturalistic swirl, possibly representing a tree or cloud, adds depth and motion to the composition.
