Cloisonné Baluster Vase with Two Tangerine Birds

Cloisonné Enamel Baluster Vase with Floral and Bird Motif

The cloisonné enamel baluster vase is decorated with two birds, in tangerine and deep orange tones, perched on a stylized tree branch. Surrounding them, large peonies in soft pink and yellow tones are set against a dark blue ground filled with fine geometric patterns. The neck is embellished with formal lotus scrolls, while a band of ruyi motifs encircles the base. The interior is enameled in turquoise, consistent with the mid-20th century cloisonné technique.
